  • 1 cup orange juice = 1 cup apple juice or pineapple juiceA (The Kitchn)
    Apple juice is milder and sweeter; pineapple is more acidic and tropical. Both work well in baked goods and marinades.

  • 1 cup orange juice = 1 cup lemon or grapefruit juice (cut with water if too tart) (The Kitchn)
    More acidic and less sweet than OJ; dilute or add a pinch of sugar to balance in baking.

    Use when the recipe needs orange flavor but liquid volume must stay the same.

Safety
  • APineapple juice: Fresh pineapple contains bromelain, which prevents gelatin from setting and breaks down dairy proteins. Use canned for those applications.
